About Emily Danon, PsyD

I am a licensed clinical psychologist helping adults navigate major life changes and challenging family or interpersonal relationships. I specialize in issues related to perinatal mental health, including fertility, pregnancy, preparing for motherhood and postpartum mood disorders. Often people’s plans for getting pregnant or ideas about how parenthood will feel do not match their lived experience. The differences between these expectations and reality can be painful. My goal in therapy is to help new parents cope with these challenges and feel better about their adjustment to parenthood.

I am especially passionate about working with pregnant and expecting parents before baby arrives to help ease the transition to parenthood and provide preventative care. I run "Preparing for Motherhood" support groups for pregnant moms expecting their first babies.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, combining psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and relational techniques. In therapy we will work to couple practical symptom reduction strategies with increased self-awareness of past patterns, fostering both immediate and lasting change.

Session Cost/Fee Information/Insurance

I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance. Clients will receive a monthly invoice from me that they can submit to their insurance for out-of-network coverage, depending on their insurance plan. Contact for more details.
