About Katie Jankowski, LMSW, LGSW, PhD

I know from personal experience how challenging being a new parent can be. There is no manual to parenthood. You may feel overwhelmed, isolated, anxious, or depressed. You may feel like you are struggling, and everyone else has it "more together" than you. You may want to talk about your emotions and struggles but feel like it is "taboo". I am here to tell you that you are not alone.

Maybe you are experiencing difficulties adjusting to the new roles, expectations, and identity of becoming a new parent. Maybe you are struggling with feelings of anxiety and depression. You are not alone, and things can get better.

I adopt an empathic, strengths-based approach to therapy, and I draw from evidence-based interventions. In particular, I enjoy teaching clinical techniques based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and coping strategies that promote self-compassion, acceptance, and mindfulness. My goal is to help you develop your own personal toolkit, to help you persevere through difficult times, and to help you find joy and hope for the future. I offer both individual therapy and run a postpartum therapy group for parents experiencing postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. I also specialize in neurodiversity (Autism, ADHD, Anxiety), and I hold a special place in my heart for supporting neurodivergent parents and parents of neurodivergent children. I also offer attachment-based parenting support.

I have a PhD in Developmental Psychology, an MSW in Clinical Social Work, and advanced clinical training in early childhood intervention/special education.
