About Erin Sadler, PsyD, PMH-C

Erin Sadler, PsyD, PMH-C is a licensed clinical psychologist within the Division of Psychology and Behavioral Health at Children's National Hospital, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Pediatrics at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Dr. Sadler specializes in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, and mood disorders occurring during childhood (infancy through adolescence) and the perinatal period (pregnancy through postpartum). She has expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy (including trauma-focused CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and is a national provider for Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). At present, Dr. Sadler serves as co-director of the outpatient Mood Disorders Program and oversees trauma services in the Early Childhood Behavioral Health Program. As a certified Perinatal Mental Health specialist, Dr. Sadler provides therapeutic support to parents who experience perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Dr. Sadler has special interests in addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and health disparities, while promoting positive childhood experiences. She is dedicated to working with infants, children and families, and engaging communities to improve the social-emotional and overall wellbeing of our most vulnerable populations. In addition, Dr. Sadler actively participates in the training of psychology students including predoctoral externs, interns, and postdoctoral fellows.
