About Sarah Arango, PhD
I earned my Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and hold both a Master of Education and a Master of Arts in Psychological Counseling from Columbia University. I am bicultural and bilingual in English and Spanish.
I work with older teens, adults, and couples, and use evidence-based approaches in a warm, interpersonal, and collaborative style. Depending on your needs and preferences, I integrate CBT, ACT, DBT, CPT for trauma, and relational self-awareness approaches.
I am especially passionate about supporting women during the perinatal period, as well as moms and couples. Whether you are navigating the transition to parenting, experiencing anxiety or depression, or working through communication, boundaries, or self-care, I aim to provide thoughtful and compassionate support throughout your journey. I also specialize in working with intercultural couples and neurodiverse individuals and couples.
I deeply value each client’s cultural background and approach therapy through a multicultural and systems-informed lens, exploring how upbringing, relationships, and broader social systems shape our identities as individuals, couples, and families.
My goal is always to ensure that therapy feels helpful and meaningful to you. I tailor each session to your goals and needs, offering flexibility in approach—whether you are seeking structured skill-building or more space to process and explore. Together, we can create a therapeutic experience that fits you.
